A film by Yaakov (also Ya’ackov) Ben-Dov produced in 1928 and commissioned by the Jewish National Fund (JNF) and United Israel Appeal (Keren Hayesod) which chronicles the rise of the Jewish community in the land, including the procuring of lands, the establishing of communities, agricultural development, and also splendorous sites of local nature and heritage. Among other things, Ben-Dov documents the founding of Tel Aviv, the draining of the Hula Valley’s swamplands, and the assimilation and integration of new immigrants.
