First High Commissioner Sir Herbert Samuel Is Received With a Festive Reception

The first High Commissioner, Lord Herbert Samuel, arrives from England and is received by an official reception at the Jaffa Port. A decorated boat carries the High Commissioner from the ship to the ports inner part. He is received by an honor guard, officers, soldiers, a military orchestra, and officials in the British Army and government of Mandatory Palestine. The High Commissioner then arrives in Jerusalem by train, where another festive reception awaits him, including an honor guard and an orchestra, and which is also attended by Mandate Police Chief Percy Bramley and Jerusalem Mayor Raeb Nashashibi.
