The entire newsreel is devoted to the events of Memorial Day and Independence Day throughout the country. A memorial day prayer in a synagogue. Rabbi Shlomo Goren says a Dvar Torah and women cry. A memorial ceremony on Mount Herzl where a large crowd of civilians and soldiers surrounds the graves. Fireworks mark the beginning of Independence Day. Members of the Scout movement stand at attention and listen to a speaker. An Independence Day ceremony in Dizengoff Square in Tel Aviv. A ceremony on the beach. Children dancing in front of an audience in a grove. A military ceremony at a large stadium where flags were exchanged, various corps march, order exercises are performed, weapons are presented. Among those attending are Foreign Minister Moshe Sharett and Chief of Staff Yigael Yadin. A march through the streets of Haifa with soldiers, policemen on horseback, tanks and cannons. A display of boats and boats in the Sea of Galilee and on shores of the Mediterranean Sea. A soccer match at the YMCA Stadium in Jerusalem, where a trophy is awarded to the winning team. Prime Minister David Ben Gurion on a tour of an Air Force base, watching a military plane. Many guests arrive at a garden party in the home of Sharett.
