A film produced by the Israel Film Service documenting the sixth Arthur Rubinstein International Piano Competition. 44 musicians from around the world were chosen to participate in the competition, which seeks to commemorate Rubinstein’s legacy. The film follows them from the initial recitals stage to the final where they perform accompanied by the Israeli Philharmonic Orchestra. Alongside excerpts from their performances of Bach, Tchaikovsky, Schumann, and others, the film includes interviews with the young musicians. Thus, we learn about the role music plays in their lives, and about the hopes and tensions stirred by the intense competition.
