A short documentary film about the contribution of American Jews to the establishment of the State of Israel.
On April 4, 1948, thousands of Americans demonstrated in New York against their country’s policy regarding Palestine. Led by the Jewish War Veterans of the United States, protesters urged President Harry Truman to express support for the Partition Plan. Just weeks later, American diplomat Philip Jessup announced recognition of Israel’s independence.
This short film documents the demonstration and Jessup’s proclamation at the General Assembly of the United Nations.
