A town the Galilee. A goodhearted man with kind eyes takes his one cow out to the meadow where he milks her udders and happily makes his cheeses. Meanwhile, a small pickup truck drives around town, inviting the locals over to the resident saint’s home for supplication prayer services (aka ‘Baqashot’). Meanwhile, the cheesemaker’s eyes meet a young woman’s. When his cow is stolen one day, the man suddenly finds himself with newfound room in his life. Using no dialogue whatsoever, Daniel Wachsmann magically crafts a Galilean fairytale unlike any other. Just as he would in his follow-up film, The Appointed, Wachsmann here explores his fascination with the power and allure of mysticism in a show of cinematic strength, demonstrating his ability to create atmosphere and suspense using the human and geographical and vistas surrounding him.
