Isaac Zepel Yeshurun’s film chronicles a relationship in the throes of a midlife crisis. The film has no narrative, per se, in the classical sense of the word; instead, it “observes” its characters through their distress, in a borderline naturalistic manner.
Micha and Aviva’s relationship seems to have hit a rough patch. They fight constantly with each other and their children, and are trapped in an interminable rut. The sex has also got boring, and Micha is now having an affair with Maya, an assistant at the newspaper where he works. His colleagues, Didi Menosi and Amnon Dankner (in cameos playing themselves) inform him that the drudgery of his personal life has started to cross over to his news stories that have recently taken a turn for the dull.
Micha and Aviva, along with the kids, seek out family counselling only that doesn’t help either. At this juncture, it seems as though the whole family is hurtling towards violence, a final throwdown between the parents, and an inevitable breakup.
