In the course of his basic training as a military paratrooper, Zvika Weissman (Moni Moshonov) learns that all of his efforts to make the coveted army unit will pale in comparison to what his fellow soldiers are about to put him through. The endless fitness trials, firing range training, and seemingly never-ending guard duties – all of that, he will happily take on. But the relentless bullying, teasing, and physical abuse he is having to endure, all gradually eat away at his resilience until he is finally driven to the point of no return. Judd Ne’eman’s debut feature was the first film in Israel to offer harsh criticism of the then-prevalent hyperviolent mentality in the IDF’s combat units of the time.
