Director Igal Stulbach put out a post on Facebook in which he appealed to second-generation children of Holocaust survivors to come forward and allow him to interview them for his film. Stulbach emphasised that he would not be asking any specific questions, and that every interview subject is welcome to discuss whatever they deem most interesting and meaningful to them – as well as choose the location. The end result is a collage comprising 38 interviewees of various backgrounds and locations, with a range worldviews, but one common experience that binds them together into a family of sorts – being the second-generation descendants of their Holocaust-surviving parents, who grew up in the shadow of this shattering trauma that, in many ways, also shaped and moulded their own lives.
