Every night, dozens of East Jerusalemites, carrying food and drink, gather in the hopes of securing a good spot in the queue to the Ministry of Interior local offices.
The harsh reality revealed paints a Kafkaesque picture that captures the multitude of issues and allegations Palestinian residents regularly raise against the Israeli authorities. The film follows Issam, Rana and other Palestinian locals’ Sisyphean journey in pursuit of having their status formally recognised, and claiming the rights that they deserve. The film ends up painting an altogether different portrait of Jerusalem, the Holy City, and capital of the State of Israel.
