The summer session of the Knesset begins. Outside the building, residents of Moshav Revaya in the Beit Shean Valley are protesting in demand that the moshav is classified as a frontier settlement. Various members arrive to the opening session. Contrary to custom, the session does not open with a statement by Prime Minister Golda Meir, who asked to postpone. Knesset Member David Ben-Gurion announces his resignation as a Knesset member, in a letter handed to Speaker of the Knesset Reuven Barkat.
