Burial War of Independence Fallen Soldiers on Mount of Olives

48 fallen soldiers that died in the Old City of Jerusalem in the War of Independence are laid to rest at the Mount of Olives Jewish Cemetery. For 19 years the dead were buried in the Jewish Quarter until it was occupied by Israeli in the Six-Day War. Chief Rabbi of Israel Isser Yehuda Unterman addresses bereaved families in the funeral, and soldiers lay the coffins in a mass grave.
