Celebrations, demonstrations and parades marking the Allies of World War II victory over Nazi Germany. Newspaper headlines in Hebrew report the surrender of Nazi Germany and the end of the war. Tens of thousands of people march and celebrate in the streets of Jerusalem. The marchers hold signs calling for the free immigration of Jews to Palestine and the immediate release of the Haganah detainees. The huge crowd gathers around the Jewish Agency building. The president of the Jewish National Council, Yitzhak Ben-Zvi, stands on the balcony of the building and delivers a speech to the audience. The parade continues.
