Women writing and narrating their lives and memories. Each, dealing with the memory of World War II and the Holocaust from her own, individual perspective: author Angelika Schrobsdorff, author Inge Deutschkron, and Holocaust survivor Cordelia Edvardson who is now a journalist with a Swedish publication, and who has covered the Israeli-Palestinian conflict extensively in her career. Through writing, the women in the film revisit and confront their childhood, their memories, and their present-day reality. To paraphrase Edvardson, it is their way of imposing form on the chaos surrounding them.
