Maria Schrader is a German actress, director, screenwriter, and producer. Schrader started out as a lauded, award-winning actress, having clinched the Silver Berlin Bear award at the Berlin International Film Festival for her role in Aimée & Jaguar (1999). Her directing credits include The Giraffe (aka Meschugge, 1998) which she co-directed with Dani Levy, and Love Life, a German-Israeli coproduction based on a novel of the same title by Zeruya Shalev. In 2020, Schrader teamed up with Netflix and directed the hit miniseries, Unorthodox.
