Evgenia Dodina is a theatre, film, and television actress. Dodina immigrated to Israel in the early 1990s. She has been with the Gesher Theatre from the day it was established and was essentially synonymous with it during her first decade in the country, before later crossing over to Habima Theatre. In Haya O Lo Haya (‘happened or didn’t happen’), Lena and Slava Chaplin’s 2003 film, Dodina played the grande dame of Hebrew theatre, legendary stage actress, Hannah Rovina. TV viewers subsequently discovered her when she starred in the series A Touch Away, and On any Saturday.
Highlights of her film credits include Saint Clara (Ari Folman and Ori Sivan, 1996), Gentila (Agur Schiff, 1997), Circus Palestina (Eyal Halfon, 1998), Made in Israel (Ari Folman, 2001), Nina’s Tragedies (Savi Gabizon, 2003), Love & Dance (Eitan Anner, 2006), There were Nights (Ron Ninio, 2009), One Week and a Day (Asaph Polonsky, 2016), Past Life (Avi Nesher, 2016), and Virgins (Keren Ben Refael, 2018). Her part in Michal Aviad’s 2011 film, Invisible earned her a Best Actress award at the Haifa International Film Festival.
