Akiva Tevet is an Israeli filmmaker. A graduate of Tel Aviv University’s Department of Film and Television Studies, in 1984 Tevet directed the film, Atalia, which kicked off the inaugural Haifa International Film Festival. Then, in 1997, he directed the miniseries, Love in the First Degree.
Tevet has taught Film Studies at a variety of academic institutions. Between 1992 – 2007, he headed the Department of Film and Television at Tel Aviv’s Camera Obscura – The School of Arts. Then, from 2007-2021, he was Head of Productions and Deputy Headmaster at Jerusalem’s Sam Spiegel Film and Television School.
