Rafi Adar is a restauranteur and filmmaker. Adar studied film in Rome, Italy. In 1986 he directed the film Gloves, a big-screen adaptation of Dan Tsalka’s novel of the same title. As an actor, Adar has appeared in a number of films including Shalom (Wayfarer’s Prayer) (Yaky Yosha, 1973), and Cables (Tzvi Shissel, 1992). Adar also co-produced with Danny Dimbort the film Private Manoeuvres (Tzvi Shissel, 1983), the military-set spinoff of the hit franchise, Lemon Popsicle.
To date, Adar has released four studio albums, including a tribute record to Italian singer Paolo Conte titled Rafi Adar Sings Paolo Conte (2007). In 1989, he opened the successful Italian restaurant, Pronto, in Tel Aviv.
Adar’s partner is actor Judith Solé.
