Duki (Zadok) Dror is a director, screenwriter, and documentary film producer. Drori studied film in the United States at UCLA, and in Chicago’s Columbia College. His graduation film, Sentenced to Learn (1993), was featured at Paris’s Centre Pompidou as part of a retrospective on US Documentary cinema. His films are primarily focused on Israeli reality and questions of identity. Dror famously shines a light on Israeli society’s more hidden nooks and crannies, and endeavours to represent those whose voice would otherwise go unheard and their story, untold. Towards the end of the 1990s, his films also began to tackle the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
Highlights of his films include Radio Daze (1996), Café Noah (1996), Warp & Weft (1997), Raging Dove (2002) that was shown at many festivals and won the DocAviv Festival’s top prize; multiple festival award-winner Mendelsohn’s Incessant Visions (2011), Down the Deep, Dark Web (2016) co-directed with Tzachi Schiff and shown at the Jerusalem Film Festival; Inside the Mossad (2017), and There are no Lions in Tel Aviv (2019).
