A short promotional film produced by the Jewish National Fund. The film presents the efforts to establish “Naot HaKirar”, a new Jewish settlement in the southern region of the Dead Sea, as part of a broader initiative by the JNF to create a sequence of new settlements in the Arabah region. The film documents the labor of settlers from all over the world in establishing the branches of the economy: dates, beef, saltwater fish, and tourism alongside the foundation’s contribution to paving the settlement’s access roads. Through the stories of some of the settlers, the video presents the nascent desert farming and deals with questions about the character of the new settlement located on the lands of biblical Sodom.
