The film “Once Around the Carousel”, produced by the Israel Film Service as part of a science and technology series, deals with the metal industry and its products.
The narrator talks about one of the diseases accompanying the metal industry, the development of corrosion. To overcome the problem, the metal goes through a mechanical polishing process. The polishing process evens out the surface of the product but hides many defects that are not visible. To overcome the problem, an electrochemical process was developed at the “Limat” factory that achieves better results in polishing the metal.
