An Israeli Film Service documentary.
Israeli born director Ofra Bikel, who has returned from a long stay abroad, visits her homeland after the Yom Kippur War. She finds a different Israel, changed not only by the war. This film reviews various aspects of its contemporary Israeli society: the status of women, the culture gap between Mizrahi and Ashkenazi Jews, the scars of the last war, and some unique local customs, such as the Israeli tendency to be very loud. Interviews with public figures, artists, soldiers who have come back from the war, and ordinary citizens help portray a picture of mid-70s Israel.
