An episode of the childrens series One Zero to Avi, which was produced in the 1970s by the Ministry of Transport in collaboration with the National Council for the Prevention of Accidents. The series is based on the tradition of childrens companies, such as Hasamba or The Famous Five. The group at the center of the current series is working to increase road safety and prevent accidents. The group is led by the bespectacled Avi, who owns a talking parrot. Avi and his friends, all elementary school students, communicate with each other on walkietalkies which is the source for the series name.
In this episode, Eytan sees a boy touching his bicycle and writing something on a sheet of paper. He suspects it is a bicycle thief and calls the group. The group follows the boy who behaves suspiciously. They arrive at a scrap yard and there confront him. The child reveals to them that since he has no money to buy a bicycle, he builds a bicycle of his own. He looks at other peoples bikes and learns how to build them. The group warns him that the bike he built is unsafe. At first, he refuses to listen, but the group promise they help him find different parts and build the bikes according to all the rules. at the end of the episode, everyone goes out for a safe ride together.
