To mark the 80th anniversary of Kfar Tavor’s founding, local residents initiated and organized special events under the guidance of the local council. Veterans and young people of the settlement, from all generations, all came to participate in exhibitions, lectures, and meetings, as well as in the ceremony of awarding the title of Honorary Citizen of Kfar Tavor to Nahum Horwitz, a member of “HaShomer,” and to Aharon Rotblatt, the first committee secretary. The main and largest event of the celebrations was the central rally for the anniversary of settling the land. Thousands of guests arrived to witness a show on a stage erected in the open air, seated on bales of straw that served as seats. The show opened with pieces performed by the settlement’s young orchestra, and after a speech by the chairman of the council, a horse-riding show and a play that reenacted chapters in the settlement’s history began. The rally was attended by government representatives, Minister of Trade and Industry Gideon Patt, the treasurer of the Jewish Agency, Akiva Levinsky, and Israel Koenig from the Ministry of Interior.
