A documentary produced by the Israel Film Service.
In honor of the centennial celebrations of Zikhron Ya’akov, Benni Porat, the director of the festivities, decided to recreate photographs from the early years of the moshava. With the help of the children and grandchildren of Zikhron Ya’akov’s founders, Porat aims to recreate images that capture the milestones in the moshava’s history: the initial settlement of the land, a visit from Maurice de Hirsch’s representative, discussions between settlers and Yehuda Leib Wormser, and more. However, they soon encounter a challenge: few of the moshava’s elders remember these events, disputes arise over historical details, and even finding the necessary pack animals for the photos proves difficult. Fortunately, Yanko Epstein, one of the elders of Zikhron Ya’akov, comes to Porat’s aid.
