Ambushes against supply convoys to Jerusalem continue and end in bitter battles In the Yotzek factory affair at the end of February 1948, 10 Haganah fighters are murdered by Arabs with the involvement of British police The Jewishowned Hayozek iron foundry and the Spirit foundry were located adjacent to what today is the Holon junction, a strategic crossroads between Abu Kabir and Mikve Israel, which straddled the JaffaJerusalem highway, and the road from Tel Aviv to Mikve Israel and the Jewish colonies in the south Twentyfour guards, including three women, were positioned at the site, as it was constantly targeted by Arab snipers The story of these foundries is discussed by Haganah fighters that survived the final attack on the site and its destruction.
