An excerpt from the film “Stories from a Jerusalem Street – Street of Prophets”, produced by the Israel Film Service, presents the story of the Ethiopian Orthodox Church in Jerusalem. The narrator tells about the Ethiopian Christian community living in the church which made its way from Ethiopia so that they could breathe the air of Jerusalem. Their prayers and ceremonies are held in ancient Amharic and in their spare time the men work in the maintenance of the church and the garden while the women take care of cleaning and cooking.
