A 35 episode documentary TV series created by the Israeli Film Service. The script follows a week by week account of events in the 1948 war starting with the 1947 UN resolution on the Partition Plan for Palestine and concluding with Israel’s first Defense Forces Parade, on July 27, 1948. The thirteenth week of the war A car bomb attack on Ben Yehuda Street in Jerusalem at dawn on February 2, 1948, planned by Abd alQadir alHusayni and Fawzi alKutub, is perpetrated by British deserters using British military vehicles and weapons Three buildings two hotels, the Atlantic and the Amdursky, and a residential building collapse and bury 58 people Refugees from the Talpiot neighborhood and evacuees of the Palestine Post newspaper attack 20 days earlier had been staying in the hotels The episode includes testimonies from members of the Eisenberg family and Ms Lotte Nathan, who survived the inferno, and footage of the deadly attack The Ben Yehuda Street attack is one of a series of harsh strikes against Jews that are planned and carried out in coordination between the Arabs and the British.
