The film presents the two faces of Mount Meron and its surroundings: nature and mysticism. The nature of the Mount Meron area contains the Paeonia Mascula, which is unique to the place, as well as other rare trees and plants. The film presents the nature, but also the settlement, individuals and institutions that live near it and nurture it. On the other hand, the film shows the righteous’ tombs, the synagogues, and the mystical religious life that make Meron and Safed important areas in the Jewish tradition. As a reflection of these two aspects, the area is filled with tourists at two main times – in the spring, when the peonies bloom, and on Lag B’Omer in honor of Rabbi Shimon bar Yochai’s Hillula.
