United Nations Day is marked in a formal military ceremony in Gaza, General Eedson Louis Millard Tommy Burns, commander of the United Nations Emergency Force (UNEF), is reviewing a guard of honor composed of soldiers of various nationalities (India, Brazil). The soldiers are seen in a roll call, marching in a military parade and an armored vehicles convoy is passing in front of the command stage, as General Burns salutes the soldiers, and commanders of international corps are watching the ceremony. The United Nations Emergency Force was deployed after the end of the Sinai War (Suez Crisis) in the Israeli-Egyptian border to maintain security at the borders (General and diplomat E.L.M. Burns of Canada served previously as Commander of the United Nations Truce Supervision Organization in Israel from 1954 to 1956).
