Israeli government ministers gather at the house of Prime Minister David Ben Gurion in Tel Aviv to discuss Israels withdrawal from the Gaza Strip at the end of the Suez Crisis. Days earlier, the United States Secretary of the State John Foster Dulles presented to Israel Ambassador to the United States Abba Eban a compromise plan between Israel and Egypt. Dulles demanded Israel to accept the UNs request to retreat from the Gaza Strip and offered that his country will send merchant ships to ensure the free traffic in the Suez Canal is kept.
