Israels first festival in Israel is held at Ganei HaTaarucha in Tel Aviv, with the participation of a large crowd, and sponsored by the weekly HaOlam HaZeh. Rock bands play onstage and young men and women dance enthusiastically. The well-known bands that play at the event are The Churchills and The Lions. Neither is seen in the footage. The only foreign band that performs is The Cocktails. Maarivs music critic, Yossi Hersonski, notes in his review of the event that most bands were amateur, the acoustics were of poor quality. Organizers failed to deliver on promises of a film screening and other cultural events and all in all the festival was a complete failure.
