On Memorial Day, hundreds of ceremonies take place across the country in the presence of government members and local councilors. The traditional beacon ceremony is held on Mount Herzl. he President and the Prime Minister attend a military display at the Hebrew University Theater. At the demonstration, representatives of the three undergrounds march alongside IDF soldiers for the first time and the event concludes with fireworks. The following day, over a quarter of a million civilians watch the military parade in Haifa in the presence of the president and prime minister, who are received by a navy demonstration. Following is a flyover featuring all types of IDF aircraft and helicopters, which form a Star of David in the sky alongside the number 18. The parade includes armored corps, artillery, military police, border police and the navy.
