The Israeli film industry marks Thirty days since the passing of Mordechai Navon, one of its pioneers. During his lifetime, Navon has met with the public, government officials, actors, and producers in Israel and abroad to recruit them to his film endeavors. In addition to setting up Geva studios, Navon encouraged and nurtured Israeli creativity and young talents. He is responsible for most of the Israeli productions in international coproductions involving Israel, including I Like Mike, Eldorado, Dalia and the Sailors, A Hole in the Moon, Judith, and A Night in Tiberias. Navon died during the filming of The Flying Matchmaker.
