The poet Uri Zvi Greenberg receives the Newman Award for Hebrew literature by the Center for Jewish Studies at New York University. The award is given annually at a ceremony held at Bar Ilan University. On stage are seen the Newman laureate Uri Zvi Greenberg, and next to him is author Shmuel Yosef Agnon, the 1963 Newman laureate, and Baruch Kurzweil, Professor for Hebrew Literature and Poetry and founder and head of the Department of Hebrew Literature at Bar Ilan University.
