The 11th Congress of the International Theater Institute is held in Israel. Ahead of the opening of the conference, the participants tour the Shrine of the Book in Jerusalem. 130 delegates from 33 countries attend the conference, and its main topic is the contemporary and modern adaptation of classic plays. Chairman of the congress, Habima actor Aharon Meskin gives his opening remarks, alongside him are seen the Institutes President Rosamond Gilder (who is one of the Institutes founders), and Education and Culture Minister Zalman Aran. In the audience are seen Habima actors Hanna Rovina and Yehoshua Bertonov.
