Mahmoud Hijazi, a Fatah member who infiltrated from Jordan to Israel in January 1965 in order to sabotage a farm well in the Lachish region, was captured by the IDF and is imprisoned in Ramla Central Prison. The sentence in his trial in a military tribunal is now declared, and Hijazi is sentenced to death. An appeal will soon be filed against the ruling, which will be converted to 30 years in prison. Hijazi will be released in 1971 to Lebanon, and the date of his release from Israeli prison is marked as Palestinian Prisoners Day.
