The Mapai partys minority representatives visit Knesset Member David Ben-Gurions house in Tel Aviv (the David Ben Gurion house) after the resignation of Yosef Almogi and Shimon Peres from the government. The resignation is a result of their opposition to the union of Mapai and Ahdut HaAvoda parties into one party (see previous item). At the end of the meeting, it is stated that David Ben-Gurion agrees to lead the Alignment party for the upcoming elections. This role will eventually be filled by Prime Minister Levi Eshkol, and the minority members of Mapai party will resign and establish the Rafi party which will be in opposition.
