The Israel Museum in Jerusalem has officially opened after many preparations. The museum contains Jewish and international art with works by known Jewish artists such as Marc Chagall, and paintings by world-renowned international artists such as Rembrandt and Picasso. The museum includes special exhibits, among them a synagogue that has been transferred in its entirety from Italy, the Billy Rose Art Garden, and the Shrine of the Book wing that features the Dead Sea Scrolls. The opening ceremony is attended by President Zalman Shazar, Museum Manager Teddy Kollek, Prime Minister Levi Eshkol, Knesset Member David Ben Gurion, guests from Israel and around the world, and the museums donors.
