Each month, the National Insurance Institutes headquarters in Kiryat Moshe, Jerusalem issue payments to tens of thousands of elderly people and widows. Many pension recipients use it for income supplementation, but a quarter of its recipients relies on it alone. At the end of each month, people in need queue at Jaffas Central Post Office to receive their allowance. The National Insurance Institute recommends that citizens open a bank account to which the funds will be transferred automatically.
