The Archeological Wing of the Israel Museum in Jerusalem now features a model of the ancient city Lachish amidst a battle, including miniature figures of soldiers, weapons, and towers. The biblical city of Lachish is said to have been conquered by Joshua bin Nun, destroyed by Sennacherib king of Assyria, Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, and others. The reconstruction corresponds to an Assyrian account of the battles that took place during the days of Sennacherib and Hezekiah, in 701 BC.
