A grove in memory of Shlomo Ben Yosef, the first of Olei Hagardom to be executed by the British, was planted by the Jewish National Fund in Betar Forest near Amatzia. In honor of the planting, a ceremony was held in the presence of Knesset Member Menachem Begin, JNFs Chief Executive Jacob Tsur, and David Niv, the head of World Betar. Ben Yosefs fellow inmates, Avraham Shane and Shalom Jurabin, unveiled a memorial plaque.
