Large Crowds Celebrate Simchat Torah in Jerusalem and Tel Aviv

The holiday season comes to an end with Simchat Torah celebrations and second hakafot taking place around the country. In Jerusalem, the main celebrations are held outside Heichal Shlomo. It is dedicated this year to Soviet Jewry and features a historic Torah Scroll brought from Russia. In Tel Aviv the Hakafot take place at Malkhey Yisrael Square (Today Rabin Square) as well as in the center of Jaffa and in southern neighborhoods of the city. These celebrations were also dedicated to Soviet Jews.
