The awards ceremony of America-Israel Cultural Foundations scholarships for outstanding musicians and artists is held at Heichal Hatarbut in Tel Aviv. During the ceremony, five young musicians play as soloists with the Gadna Orchestra, conducted by Shalom Ronli-Riklis. Speeches are given by Moshe Sharett, Knesset member and chairman of the Zionist Management of the World Zionist Organization, and Yeshayahu Shapira, the chairman of the America-Israel scholarships program. That year, the foundation awarded 281 scholarships totaling 120,000 Israeli pounds.
