Independence Day 1958 (1958) marked the 10th year of the establishment of the state. Celebrations throughout the country, the parade in Jerusalem with the heads of state, a reenactment of the Declaration of Independence ceremony at Beit Dizengoff in Tel Aviv with the participation of Prime Minister David Ben-Gurion and many of the signers of the declaration ceremony in 1948. Children hang flags, many buildings are lit and decorated, a military parade, a reception for foreign diplomats at the President’s House. A dance celebration in the streets of Haifa, a military parade in the Ramat Gan stadium, tanks, marching soldiers, female soldiers in spectacular drills, torches, and fireworks.
