In the first years of the State of Israel, numerous new immigrants were tasked with establishing agricultural “immigrant settlements” to bolster the country’s agricultural sector. The docu-drama film directed by Arie Lahola centers on the immigrant settlement “Eshtaol,” highlighting the challenges faced by the new settlers. It also portrays the emergence of a new generation of Israeli children growing up in the new settlements. Orna Porat makes one of her early screen appearances in the film.
