The hill country surrounding the city became accessible to Israelis, and it is rich in history, in traditions, in architecture, and nature. We get a peek into Hebron, Bethlehem, desert monasteries, the traditional tomb of Prophet Samuel and other sites. Meanwhile, Israeli communities in the Jerusalem corridor are highlighted as representing modernity.
