This short film presents Haifa as an industry town, but replaces the sound of machines with pleasant airs played on the classical guitar and harp. In it’s first half we visit a bottle factory, a shoe factory and a foundry, enjoying the dynamic of the manufacturing out of the calm distance cast by the soundtrack. Following a short lunch break at a factory cantine, the lens carries us to the port, where the Gavotte out of Bach’s 4th suite for Lute replaces the sound of welders, the banging of citrus crates unloaded from railway wagons, and the motor hum of forklifts. Following a short visit to the fishermen’s docks at the Kishon harbour, where the calm surroundings are in harmony with the soft music, we are transported to a textile factory, and the contrast is regained.
