A documentary film by Boaz Davidson, produced by the Anti-Drugs’ Inter-Ministerial Committee and the Information Center (Hasbara), intended to warn youth against drug abuse. The film offers an intimate portrait of Shmuel Adi, known as Beautiful Jimmy, a 29-year-old man who lives in Tel Aviv and is addicted to opium and other drugs. In his unique language reveals Jimmy his difficulties as an addict, and his sense of loneliness imposed by his addiction. Pnina, Jimmy’s mother, as well as characters from his past such as former employers and educators from the kibbutz, are also interviewed in the film, which features graphic scenes of injecting opium. Shalom Hanoch’s song “Yeladim Shel Hachaim” is featured in the soundtrack and was written specifically for the film (Producer: Tzvi Shissel, director and screenwriter: Boaz Davidson, narrator: Yehonatan Geffen, soundtrack: Shalom Hanoch).
