A Minhal Ha’hasbara documentary for the tenth anniversary of the Jewish Brigade’s fighting in World War II.
The film follows the history of the Yishuv’s volunteering to the British Army, from the beginning of WWII until the Flag Speech of Moshe Shertok, the secretary of the Jewish Agency’s political department, in front of Jewish Brigade soldiers on the Italian front. Afterward, the film reviews the chain of events that led to the establishment of Israel: Victory Day parade in Jerusalem, the release of Holocaust survivors from concentration camps and their immigration to Palestine, UN sessions on the Palestine Partition Plan, and the Decleration of Independence. The film ends with footage from Israel’s Independence Day parades.
